The 2nd Rooyesh Festival was held from March 3 to 5, 2019, at Iran Mall’s Permanent Center for the International Exhibition and Trade Events.

According to Iran Mall Exhibition Center, head of the University of Applied Science and Technology (UAST) Dr. Mohammad Hossein Omid attended the second inter-university Rooyesh festival, pointing out that cultural centers encompassed a wide range of achievements, capabilities and different specialized fields. Noting the difference between the aforementioned centers, the trade unions, sports associations, etc. -which are all valuable regarding their diversity-, he added that, “All the fields in which the students are interested are covered in this festival”.

Pointing out the difference between the ‘University of Applied Science and Technology’ as a university focusing on applied sciences and that of other theoretical universities, he said, “We seek to transform the measures and activities of the university into thriving businesses in the future”.

"Our intention at the University of Applied Science and Technology is to educate those who would be employers in the future, not employees, workers and servants of others. Applied science graduates are supposed to employ others; therefore, one of the platforms that reinforces this idea is the existence of these centers, and the establishment of this festival is aimed at paving the way for achieving this goal”, the head of the University of Applied Science and Technology went on to say.

Visiting the achievements of the applied science universities throughout the country as well as the on-site handicrafts exhibition, participants in the festival got acquainted with the latest achievements and scientific and educational activities.

According to the report of the organizing staff of Iran Mall’s Permanent Center for the International Exhibition and Trade Events, some 21 booths from the provincial units of the University of Applied Science and Technology as well as some 24 associated booths participated in the festival; some 38 workshops were also held using the capacity of teachers in educational centers during the festival days.
